You Might Be A Dairy Farmer If ...

you know the price of milk per hundred weight but not by the gallon.
the medicine cabinet contains a container of Bag Balm.
you've ever gotten an award for fat (and were proud of it).
your idea of a power lunch is a sandwich on a tractor.
your idea of a neighborhood watch is someone calling you to let you know your heifers are out.
you have more than a dozen cats.
your idea of overnite delivery is pulling a calf at three in the morning.
you can remember the name of every cow on your farm but the names of your children elude you.
manure is a dinner table topic.
your backyard ends at an electric fence.

I really had to laugh at the last one myself...My backyard IS fenced in electric fence and cattle panels....and it isn't uncommon to see a goat lounging on the backporch! :D

I have one doe, Mable, that does not think she needs to be in the fenced pasture. She will get out at all hours, browse at will, then when full either come to the house to get your attention, or just jump back in herself. I don't think even a 6 ft fence would hold her!!
