Mommaw’s Pie Crust

1 ½ cups flour
½ cup shortening (lard makes it flakier but is now hard to find)
¼ cup boiling water
¾ tsp. salt

Mix flour, shortening, and salt until like coarse corn meal. Pour in boiling water and mix. Dough will be soft. Roll out on floured pastry cloth. This recipe is for a one crust pie.
