I am so very sorry to hear about Sean's passing. I didn't know about it until just now because I had not read Nikki's blog for a few days and it broke my heart to find out he hadn't made it. I will always be in awe of those two and how hard they fought. It is such a blessing that God brought them together.
Prayers of comfort for your whole family. I am deeply sorry for your loss.

Thank you......and I'm sorry I haven't been able to update here. (For some reason when I come here the pages take forever to load, by the time the page loads, I'm off and running again!)

We take comfort in knowing that Seans last few weeks were good ones..he was feeling good!...despite the progression of his disease he never let it take control of him and his love for life and spirit for having fun. Sean lived, laughed and loved up to the very last second.

Kelly, Seans Mom, has updated the blog http://www.shieldsfamilyupdates.blogspot.com/ She did a beautiful job in doing so.......there is also an online obituary at http://www.mckinleyfuneral.com/Obits/20 ... s/obit.htm there is a beatifully written piece by one of Sean's sisters there.

Nikki....her strength and courage continues to shine through. Seans friends have been right beside her, taking care of her...and putting a smile back on her face, Sean would have it no other way!

Again, Thank you for holding Nikki up in your thoughts and prayers...
Love to you all,
Fondaleette

I love that funeral homes do the online obituaries now.
If I ever have to face a battle like that, I hope I can have a quarter of the faith and determination that young man had. As much as his family grieves just know how good he feels right now! God bless him! He is an angel that God has called home.

Yesterday, we buried Sean People from all over said there last goodbyes in so many ways....an amazing crowd!!

The casket was loaded unto the back of one of Seans very best of friends big truck, in precession, a group of Harley bikes, followed by two more of the big mud/dune trucks..(freshly covered in mud)...when those big trucks started their engines, the whole city of Fremont knew Upon leaving the cemetery, the Harleys lined up on the street and 'laid rubber'..leaving behind a cloud of smoke. All the while, you could hear the thunder of the big trucks in the background, revving their engines...Sean would be so proud!!

After the luncheon, many came together at Sean and Nikki's home..good friends and family....I watched as a hummingbird made his way in and out of the crowd...

Though we can no longer see Sean, we feel him all around us.....and we know, he is okay

WHAT CANCER CANNOT DO

Cancer is so limited...

It cannot cripple love,
It cannot shatter hope,
It cannot corrode faith,
It cannot eat away peace,
It cannot destroy confidence,
It cannot kill friendship,
It cannot shut out our memories,
It cannot silence courage,
It cannot invade the soul,
It cannot reduce eternal life,
It cannot quench the spirit,
It cannot lesson the power of the Resurrection.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF...

What a beautiful young man he was and what a beautiful tribute to him! I would love to have seen that funeral procession. Though grieving his death, it's such an honor to him how his family celebrates his life.

Rest in peace, Sean.

I am sorry to hear this!
God Bless Sean and the fact that he had such wonderful family and love!
The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off.
